Shoreline Mobiles and Decorations

This course will provide you with an understanding of how to create Mobiles and/or decorations using recycled materials primarily found on beaches and the shoreline. Here will develop knowledge of a range of techniques, that can be used to create, construct and embellish mobiles and decorations. You will develop your own styles and identify materials that you are most comfortable with to express ideas with most effectively and have fun during the process.

Please note: learners are limited to taking part in a maximum of six community learning courses throughout the academic year.

What will I study?

Learners can progress throughout the course, starting with a mood board of their ideas and concepts moving on to some experiments with techniques and materials, before embarking on their final piece of work. Here, you will enhance your ability to use colour, texture and form to create mood and impact within your art work.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course but you will receive a certificate of attendance if you complete the course.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

There are no additional costs; all materials are provided, although it is encouraged to source materials from the beach to add to your piece during the course.

Learners are required to wear work boots or leather toed shoes due to being in a workshop environment. No open toe shoes to be worn
