What will I study?

Join us for a relaxing and inspiring five-week course where you'll explore the traditional art of rag rug making. Using upcycled textiles, you'll learn simple, tactile techniques to create your own unique mat, cushion cover, or wall hanging — no previous experience needed.

This mindful, hands-on craft is a great way to unwind, reduce waste, and reconnect with the joy of making. Whether you're looking to explore your creativity, meet like-minded people, or simply take a break from the daily rush, this course is your invitation to slow down and stitch with purpose.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course but you will receive a certificate of attendance if you complete the course.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,000 per year (this includes pension income)*. Please select the relevant options when enrolling online.

There are no additional costs. All materials are provided. A variety of materials will be used to bring out your creativity but we do recommend you bring your own pen and any materials you would personally like to use.

*If you do not qualify for a free course the course fee will be £25.00
