In a small, welcoming classroom, you will learn carving techniques to shape your sculpture, understanding how to work with the grain and character of the wood to enhance your piece’s natural beauty. During the course, you will develop texturing techniques to add lifelike details to your sculptures, such as scales, fins, and tentacles, using various tools and materials.
There is no qualification for this course but you will receive a certificate of attendance if you complete the course.
You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college, including our Level 1 Award in Creative Crafts.
Course fee: £37.50 This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,000 per year (this includes pension income) Please select the relevant options when enrolling online. All materials are provided. Please bring along a notebook and pen and any shoreline items you wish to add to your sculpture such as shells, stones, or driftwood.
