Develop Visible Mending with slow stitching

Visible mending is a relaxing, mindful, creative course playfully repairing and recycling clothing. We will explore different techniques for mending clothing, using experimental stitching and improvised mending. You can enjoy personalising your own clothing through stitching, extend the story, flag the beloved oldness, and render your clothing priceless to you!

What will I study?

You will be encouraged to evolve your own sewing style and gain skills for mending and embellishing your own clothes at home, in a mindful and creative way, with upcycling and sustainability at the heart of the process

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course but you will receive a certificate of attendance if you complete the course.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,000 per year (this includes pension income)*. Please select the relevant options when enrolling online.

There are no additional costs. All materials are provided. A variety of materials will be used to bring out your creativity but we do recommend you bring your own pen and any materials you would personally like to use.

*If you do not qualify for a free course the course fee will be £37.50
