Level 1 Award in Creative Craft

This qualification aims to: • enable learners to develop basic skills in craft • provide learners with underpinning knowledge of the craft process • provide learners with a basis for progression into further study in craft-related areas

On this course learners will work with the following materials: reclaimed wood, small sheet metal and recycled beach materials.

What will I study?

Learners will develop their knowledge of materials and the techniques required to manipulate them including knowledge of appropriate tools and equipment.

Learners will explore the work of others to inspire and develop their own craft ideas. There will be opportunities for learners to record their ideas, discuss them with others and develop their ideas in response to feedback.

By the end of the course learners will produce their final piece of work and have the opportunity to display it for others to see.

How will I be assessed?

This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence created by the learner. There are no exams.

What qualification will I achieve?

The learner will achieve the NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft.

What can I do after completing this course?

Learners who achieve this qualification could also progress to a level 2 qualification in areas such as Art & Design, Photography, Creative Craft, Graphic Design or Employability Skills.
