This qualification aims to: • enable learners to develop basic skills in craft • provide learners with underpinning knowledge of the craft process • provide learners with a basis for progression into further study in craft-related areas
Learners will study wood whittling, eco based crafts using recycled materials and willow weaving.

Learners will develop their knowledge of materials and the techniques required to manipulate them including knowledge of appropriate tools and equipment.
Learners will explore the work of others to inspire and develop their own craft ideas. There will be opportunities for learners to record their ideas, discuss them with others and develop their ideas in response to feedback.
By the end of the course learners will produce their final piece of work and have the opportunity to display it for others to see.
Learners will take part in a trip to a local art gallery as part of this course.
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence created by the learner. There are no exams.
The learner will achieve the NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to a level 2 qualification in Creative Craft or other areas such as Art & Design, Photography, Graphic Design or Employability Skills.
There are no extra costs for this course.
Learners must be able to commit to all taught sessions and be able to complete additional work set by the tutor outside of course sessions.
To enhance the learning on this course there will be a trip to visit a local art gallery.
