Paper Cut Collage Summer School

In this 4 week course you will be introduced into the exciting world of Cut Paper Collage. Inspired by the work of many contemporary artists, we will investigate ways in which cut paper collage can be used to create fine art outcomes, illustrations, and repeat pattern designs. You will be shown different techniques, materials and tools used by renowned artists. Together we will explore different mark-making techniques in paint and inks using traditional tools, as well as some more experimental methods, bringing these skills together to produce your own collection of painted papers. We will then investigate cutting and layering your own coloured papers to produce artwork on your own choice of theme such as townscapes/seascapes, floral, still life, abstract. You will finish this introduction to Cut Paper Collage with the confidence and knowledge to take your ideas forward independently. Materials will be provided but you might want to bring along a sketchbook and/or notebook and a camera/phone camera to record your ideas as they progress.
