This one-year BSc (Hons) Integrated Health, Social Care and Wellbeing (Top-Up) is designed for anyone who has previously studied a relevant / related subject, up to Level 5. The course is designed to expands upon your current knowledge and understanding of the health, social care, and wellbeing sector, by now considering the industry from a different perspective. The modules are designed for you to reflect on your own leadership styles and qualities and review your current practice. Explore international healthcare and consider how we could implement positive changes in your own area of practice. This final year will prepare you to adapt to the ongoing changes happening in this dynamic sector.

What will I study?

You will study a variety of modules on the course that are designed to reflect the diverseness of the sector and the experience of those accessing the course, this will include:

• Leadership Practice in the Health and Social Care Setting

• Implementing a Change Project in the Workplace

• International Healthcare

• Research with Service Users and Families

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

Minimum of 64 UCAS points (160 old system) from a BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma / A Levels / Foundation Diploma / Access Diploma in a related subject; if English is not your first language, an IELTS score of 6.5 with a 6 in writing; proof of qualifications; a satisfactory reference.

What can I do after completing this course?

Many of our students have progressed onto postgraduate courses at locally universities. These have been in a range of subjects from Occupational Therapy to Public Health.

Once you have graduated you will have a full honours degree, many of our student used the knowledge and skills they have gained to change careers and take up management positions within the industry.

Entry Requirements

• Applicants must be working in a Health Care setting and should have been employed within that setting for at least two years. Applicants must be involved in at least 12 hours / week of activity within the setting.

• Completion of a level 5 qualification such as an HND or FdA in Health Care or presentation of other evidence of capability to undertake study at level 6.

• Applicants must have a current and valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) report.

• In certain circumstances applicants may be considered if they can provide evidence of prior learning with an appropriate portfolio of work. Claims for the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will also be considered in accordance with university guidance.

• International students will be requested to provide a digital portfolio; evidence of IELTS 6.5 overall, and 6.0 in writing, and equivalent Level 5 qualifications.

• Selection is by means of application form and interview. Students will be expected to produce a 500-word, word processed document reflecting their role as an operational manager.
