An introduction to the traditional practice of icon painting in the Russian Byzantine style - using the Prosopon School ( www.Prosoponschool.org ) technique of liquid egg tempera painting. Working from the instructors sketch, based on the ancient prototype of the 11th C icon known as Angel with Golden Hair, each participant will paint an icon of this Angel. As the painting process unfolds every participant will experience themselves reflected on their board. The icon which will begin as one sketch becomes a multiplicity of unique expressions of an Angel.
