Life Drawing and Painting

Join us for our life-drawing classes, where we'll help you develop your observational and expressive drawing and painting skills through a series of guided studio sessions. Each week you will be introduced to techniques and materials covering the formal elements of line, scale composition, colour and proportion.

Develop your own personal style starting with analytic and objective drawing and moving on to explore the expressive possibilities of life drawing and painting.

What will I study?

During these sessions, you will learn how to use a range of media through varying styles and perspectives. You will draw and sketch using pencil, pastel, Indian ink, charcoal and graphite. We'll also introduce you to other techniques, including collage, painting, and measured drawing.

There are a few extra costs involved with this course as you will need to bring your own drawing materials and cartridge paper.

Additional Info

This course will be led by our expert tutor, Howard Seaton. Howard is a three-dimensional design specialist with nearly 30 years of experience teaching a broad range of art and design subjects across various levels. He has an informal, relaxed and responsive teaching style with good contextual and subject-specific knowledge.
