Make a Mosaic
During this fun and creative course, we'll show you how to make beautiful mosaics. We'll start with some basic techniques for cutting glass and build up to grouting and finishing.
This course is aimed at adult learners. If you are under 19, please contact the college for advice.

What will I study?
This course is a fantastic introduction to mosaic making. We'll show you how to cut glass, design, assemble, grout and finish your pieces, whether that is in the form of panels, mirrors or 3D objects!
How will I be assessed?
Continuous informal assessment throughout the sessions, and where appropriate, through the use of Individual Learning Plans, as specified by RARPA
What qualification will I achieve?
There is no qualification for this course, but you'll be awarded a certificate of attendance if you attend 80% or more of the course.
What can I do after completing this course?
Once you have finished this course, you could join other creative courses such as patchwork quilting or wood carving.
Are there any extra costs?
During the first session your will be able to start designing your project. The teacher will also go over some of the materials required for the projects and where to get them. We also recommend that you purchase some nippers and a glass cutter. You can get these from Topps Tiles and Homebase. College will provide tile adhesive and grout.
Additional Info
It is also a good idea to bring a notebook, pencil, pen, we have protective plastic glasses.
