Join us for an enjoyable introduction to machine sewing from setting up a machine to completing your first projects. Chose from our selection of projects or bring your own and work on them with plenty of support and advice available.
During this course, the tutor will guide you through setting up a sewing machine, including the different stiches and feet and when to use what.
We will then use our new skills to work on projects. Our tutor has a wide selection to choose from including bags, cushions and gifts or bring your own and receive all the support you need to complete them.
You will learn an array of sewing techniques including:
select the correct fabric and hardware. Marking, measuring and cutting fabric.
Inserting zips and sewing buttonholes
Understanding and interpreting patterns
Continuous informal assessment
There is no qualification for this course.
Once you have completed this couse , you might like to try our mend and make do course, to learn how to repair your own clothes.
There are some extra costs with this couse as you will need to buy your own materials.
This course is ideal for beginners and for new sewers looking for pattern and sewing guidance.
You will leave with the confidence to tackle new projects at home.
