The course is run by Katie Jones a creative textiles designer. Katie's personal specialism is in knitwear and sustainable practices. She runs her own crochet business producing patterns and DIY guides. Katie also works as a freelance textile artist creating windows for Selfridges and working in the fashion industry. She has previously sold her pieces internationally, received the Selfridge Bright New Thing award and had her work exhibited in the V&A. Alongside her work she has written 2 books and works as a fashion and textiles lecturer. Having taught for over 10 years and working at Nottingham Trent University, Middlesex university, Morley College and ESCG, Katie is excited to share her skills and experience with you in this fun and creative course.

Upcycle, transform, decorate stitch, darn, customise! In this 1/2 day a week course learn how to transform and personalise your clothes using textile techniques such as embroidery, knit, crochet, visible mending and applique. Create patches, inserts, embellishments, and creative details to breathe new life to existing garments!
This course allows you to learn new techniques and explore your own personal style. Bring your own pieces to work into, this could be Knit, Denim, Jackets, jumpers- anything you wish to revive, mend or add a personal stamp to!
