What will I study?

This course is the entry qualification for the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting. In this qualification you will master more complex accounting disciplines.

You will study the following areas: • Business Awareness • Financial Accounting: Preparing Financial Statements • Management Accounting Techniques • Tax Processes for Businesses

How will I be assessed?

All assessments are computer-based tests and projects which will be scheduled by East Sussex College but set and marked by the AAT. Assessments are time limited and take place at East Sussex College under controlled conditions.

What qualification will I achieve?

A Level 3 Diploma in Accounting issued by the AAT, the professional body for accounting technicians.

What can I do after completing this course?

This course can provide a pathway to the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting.

Are there any extra costs?

You will be required to purchase your textbooks and a reading list will be provided prior to the start of the course along with discount codes for the publishers. The cost of books is approximately £140 when purchased new. These books are essential for successful completion of the course.

You will also need to pay an AAT registration fee directly to the AAT of £225. You will be provided with information about how to do this on the first day of the course.

Suitably employed students can also apply for a funded or part-funded apprenticeship in accounting on a day release basis. Applicants who wish to pursue this route but are not employed, will be advised on, and supported with, job applications. Please ask for further information about the apprenticeship route.
