Important Information – Level 4 Accounting
A brand-new AAT Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician (L4PAT) qualification is launching nationally from 1st September 2026, featuring updated content aligned to current industry skills. At East Sussex College, we are planning to offer this new qualification from February 2027. The February start date is provisional, and confirmed dates will be published here as soon as they are finalised. Courses starting from February will be available on a self-funded (self-pay) basis only.
The current Level 4 Accounting (2022 qualification) is being phased out. Final start date: 17th August 2026.
If you’re looking to start sooner, you may wish to apply for the current qualification. If you’re happy to wait for the updated content, the new L4PAT course may be more suitable. If you’re unsure which option is right for you, please contact our team for advice before applying.
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive the AAT Level 4 Diploma in Professional Accounting
You may also apply for full AAT membership (MAAT) and pursue chartered accountancy.
