What will I study?

Fancy entering Great British Bake Off ? or want to prepare classic desserts at home ? If the answer is yes then this course is for you ! This course will help you to improve your skills in producing desserts and sweet products . You will learn how to produce biscuits, cakes, sponges and desserts, as well as dough and pastry products. Most of the techniques you see on Television will be covered and more. So when you next see an episode of GBBO you can confidently comment on why someones cake has a soggy bottom or Meringues have flopped !

This course will cover all the basic techniques required to prepare and cook a range of dishes. You will learn Pastry,Doughs,hot and cold desserts , mousses and ice creams. You will learn to prepare a range of chocolates and confectionery and some basic cake decorating skills.

How will I be assessed?

There will be practiacal observations, support and guidance from you tutor, as well as some written questions.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no formal qualification with this course, but you will have lots of new cookery skills.

What can I do after completing this course?

Once you have completed this course, you could join one of our other part-time courses, such as bread making or Italian cooking.
