If you love baking but struggle with decorating your cakes, then join us for this short course where we'll show you to finish off your masterpieces like a pro. You'll learn sugarcraft and cake decorating techniques through demonstration and hands-on experience in our friendly and supportive class.
This course is aimed at adult learners. If you are under 19, please contact the college for advice.

During this course, we will show you how to use both sugar paste and Royal icing to cover cakes, pipe icing, make models, flowers, and decorations for cakes. By the end of the course, you will be able to decorate a celebration or novelty cake.
Continuous informal assessment throughout the sessions, and where appropriate, through the use of Individual Learning Plans, as specified by RARPA
There is no qualification for this course, but you'll be awarded a certificate of attendance if you attend 80% or more of the course.
Once you have finished this course, you might like to join some of our other cookery classes, such as making delicious curries or creating a fantastic Italian Christmas feast.
You'll need to bring your own ingredients to each session.
The first class will be demonstrations by our expert tutor Margaret Burgess. You'll need to bring an apron, dish/tea cloth, notebook and pen to each session.
