French Regional Cooking

If you're looking to add a little je ne sais quoi to your cooking, then you should join us for our French Regional Cooking class. You'll be able to create dishes such as classic cassoulet, chicken with apples and calvados, provencal fish soup, rillettes of duck, onion tart, and Pate de Campagne - rural French cooking at its best. For 19 year old plus learners. If you are under 19, please contact the college for advice.

What will I study?

Are you fed up with fast food, bland food and ready meals and would like to get creative in the kitchen and experiment with new flavours then this course is for you. Rural French cooking at its best. We cover four regions - the South West, Alsace, Provence and Normandy. Cook classic cassoulet, chicken with apples and calvados, provençal fish soup, rillettes of duck, onion tart, Pâté de Campagne and more. Approximate costs of ingredients to buy will be £8-£12 per week. Please bring an apron, dish cloth and tea towel to each session. Tutor: TBC

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course, but you'll be awarded a certificate of attendance if you attend 80% or more of the course.

What can I do after completing this course?

Once you have finished this course, you might like to join our other cookery courses.

Are there any extra costs?

You'll need to bring along your own ingredients, which should cost you no more than £8-£12 per week.
