Barista Skills Level 2 Award

In our well-equipped training restaurant, we'll show you the full range of skills and products required to be a Barista. We will explore the origin of products and cover some of the processes they go through, for example, how they get from coffee bean to latte.

Learners on the Barista Skills course will complete A 7-drink practical assessment covering key drink preparation and presentation skills and A 20-question short answer theory paper to assess knowledge and understanding.

Throughout the course, learners will receive 1:1 feedback on all aspects of drink preparation and production.

A full mock assessment will also be provided, giving learners the opportunity to receive personalised feedback on their practical and hands-on performance in readiness for their final assessment.

A theory session will take place in Week 1, with revision resources available via Google Classroom to support preparation for both assessments.

Once you have completed this course, you will achieve a Level 2 Award in Barista Skills.

Once you have completed this course, your qualification will help you secure jobs in coffee shops, cafes or restaurants. You might also like to enhance your skills one of our other catering qualifications, such as our Level 2 Culinary Skills course.

There are only a couple of small extra costs, as you will need to provide ingredients for a banana-based smoothie for your assessment.
