The NCFE Level 1 Mental Health Awareness course is an ideal short course for anyone who would like to start to develop their knowledge and understanding of the ideas related to mental health and some of the causes of mental health difficulties. The objectives of this qualification are to: • raise awareness of the issues surrounding mental health • dispel some of the myths and misconceptions frequently linked to mental health issues • develop learners’ knowledge of the rights of those with mental health issues

Learners will gain an awareness of the myths and stereotypical misconceptions that are so often linked to mental health difficulties. As well as, develop their knowledge of the rights of individuals with mental health issues. This course would suit anyone looking to gain a basic understanding about mental health. No previous qualifications are needed to join this course. However, it is recommended that you have some basic computer skills and also writing skills at a level 1 standard.
This qualification is assessed by a portfolio of evidence created by the learner. There are no exams.
Learners who achieve this qualification could also progress to a level 2 qualification or Employability Skills.
There are no extra costs for this course.
Learners must be able to commit to all taught sessions and be able to complete additional work set by the tutor outside of course sessions.
