This specialist ICT courses for the Visually Impaired has been running for over ten years and is a practical, hands-on course for the visually impaired providing you with the opportunity to learn and/or improve basic IT skills across a range of software packages using assistive software and hardware. You will study subjects such as , word processing, spreadsheets, using the internet, using email as well as creating presentations. Your course will be 1 to 1 with your own personal tutor.

What will I study?
This is a practical, hands-on course for the visually impaired providing you with the opportunity to learn and/or improve basic IT skills across a range of software packages using assistive software and hardware. You will study subjects such as , word processing and spreadsheets, using the internet, using email as well as creating presentations. Your course will be 1 to 1 with your own personal tutor.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by completing assignments and projects throughout the course and with a final assessments for each unit taken.
What qualification will I achieve?
You will receive an OCR IT Users ITQ certificate at the completion of the course.
What can I do after completing this course?
If you gain a pass for this course you can progress to a Level 2 IT course were you will learn to use software applications in a more combined way.
Additional Info
Lessons are either in a morning or afternoon session for a duration of 3 hours. Guide Dogs are welcome. Many of our visually impaired students have either gone on to a higher level of course or been able to gain employment upon completing the course.
