Counselling Skills Certificate Level 2
This course will help you to explore the application of counselling skills in a range of different settings. Underpinning your learning will be the Person Centred Approach to counselling which offers you a challenging and exciting opportunity to engage in counselling and explore self development. All applicants need to have completed the Level 1 Interpersonal Skills Award.

What will I study?
The course explores and examines from a theoretical and practical perspective the application of counselling skills in a range of different settings. Underpinning all learning is the Person Centred Approach of Carl Rogers which offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to work experientially and enable a deeper exploration of the development of self. The course includes 20 hours of home study. There are Saturday workshops, and you will be informed of these dates before enrolment.
Please note, entry is only open to those over the age of 19 at the course start date.
How will I be assessed?
Formative assessment is ongoing from tutor and peers. Final assessment is on a portfolio of work including skills feedback sheets, self-assessment, learning journal and a case study. This course is NCFE CACHE accredited.
What qualification will I achieve?
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
What can I do after completing this course?
Use counselling skills in the work place. Apply for a place on the Counselling Level 3 or the Foundation Degree in Person-Centred Counselling.
Are there any extra costs?
The course includes a residential weekend. The total fees for this course are £585.00. This consists of £435.00 for tuition and exam fees, and £150.00 for the residential weekend. A4 ring binder required.
