This experientially taught course will explore a range of interpersonal and counselling skills using some of the key concepts from the counselling world. You will gain useful transferable skills, such as listening and communication, knowledge of self-development, and an understanding of how prejudices and value judgements impact our everyday life.
The course offers continual assessment from tutor and peers. Your final assessment is via a portfolio consisting of skills feedback, self-assessment and a learning journal.
Once you have completed this course you will achieve an NCFE Level 1 Award in Interpersonal Skills.
Once you have finished this course, you could move onto counsellor training or progress to our Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills. Alternatively, you will gain valuable transferable skills in the workplace.
This course is accredited by NCFE. As there are some aspects of course content and activities that are not suitable for students under the age of 18, you will need to be 19 or older at the start of the academic year. Due to the confidential nature of counselling education, it may not be suitable to attend classes with individuals you are closely related to or have a personal relationship with.
