This ten week course is welcome to anyone with an interest in writing fiction. Writing is a fun and relaxing way to channel your creativity and improve your mental wellbeing. During this course, we'll show you how you can improve your writing through a series of exercises and group activities.

This course will help you to improve your creative writing by looking at examples of published and fictional writing to learn techniques for developing characters, dialogue, evocative description of places, point of view, characters in conflict, and good beginnings and endings and have a chance to discuss contemporary literature. Each week we will concentrate on a different theme important to writing fiction , such as character, setting, plot, them, dialogue.
While there is no real assessment in the course, we will have regular peer-led workshops and teacher critiques throughout the course. Then in the final week, we have a critique on a 2,500-word story you have developed during the course.
There is no qualification for this course, but you'll be awarded a certificate of attendance if you attend 80% or more of the course.
