If you're considering a change of career and want to learn a valuable and versatile skill, then barbering is for you. Firstly, being a Barber is a great job due to its hands-on nature. We'll teach you all the skills and techniques you need to cut men's hair while you input your own creative abilities to create on-trend cuts. You will study four units during this course:
You will be required to demonstrate a good level of English in both written and communication skills, in line with the level of the course.
You will continually be assessed during the course. There will be observations of your practical work and written assignments to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.
Once you have completed this course, you will achieve a VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering.
Once you have completed this course, you could start working as a barber in a commercial salon, or you might like to improve your skills, knowledge, and qualifications by joining our Level 3 Barbering course.
There is an extra cost for this course as we recommend you purchase a barbering kit, such as scissors, comb, and clippers. We'll give you more information about the kits and suggest good retailers to buy from during your college interview.
Our fully equipped salons are open to the public, which means you will be able to practise your cuts on paying clients. We also recommend that you undertake some home study as part of the course.
