Beauty Therapy Level 3

This engaging and practical vocational course provides progression from the Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma. It will extend your skills as a beauty therapist by introducing you to a larger range of specialist beauty face and body treatments, including body massage, stone therapy massage, individual lashes and microdermabrasion.

You will also be given the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in running a beauty business, including retailing and promotional activity, health and safety and client care and communication. This course runs 1 day per week during school hours, you will be expected to complete you own independent study for the theoretical units and assignments. It is recommended that you complete the distance learning course in Preparing to Run and Hair and Beauty Business alongside this qualification.

This Level 3 in Beauty Therapy provides progression from Level 2 Beauty Therapy. This engaging and practical vocational course will extend your skills as a beauty therapist by introducing you to a larger range of specialist beauty face and body treatments, including body massage, stone therapy massage, electrical facials, retailing and promotional activity, health and safety, client care and communication. This increased depth of knowledge will prepare you for work in salons, hotels, health and fitness spas, airlines, cruise liners and department stores in the UK or overseas.

A work placement is an essential feature of the course. It will give you a valuable insight into the commercial world of beauty therapy as well as looking great on your CV - thanks to strong links with local employers we can help set up this placement for you. Opportunities to shine will include encouragement to take part in internal and external skills events.

Your knowledge and understanding in these units will be collected in a portfolio of evidence along with assignments and exams.

Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy

You will be qualified to work as a beauty therapist within industry or progress on to the Level 4 in Salon Management here at Lewes.

There is a requirement to purchase uniform. Kits may only need refreshing if you have recently completed Level 2 or are already working as a therapist.

You should have displayed the dedication to build on both practical and interpersonal skills when working on clients. Additional skills which will help you to succeed are, a good standard of appearance to reflect the industry, a genuine interest in people and the ability to communicate.Work experience is a compulsory part of this course and you will need to source you own placement under the guidance of your tutor.
