What will I study?

During this course, we will show you how to provide complementary therapies to people with cancer and people with a range of long term medical and life-limiting conditions. You will learn how to deliver these therapies alongside orthodox treatments, often within the healthcare setting, so that you can provide psychological and emotional support through the relief of symptoms.

You will study four units:

  • Principles of providing complementary therapies in a healthcare setting
  • Interpersonal skills for the complementary therapist
  • Providing complementary therapies for people with life-limiting conditions
  • Working with healthcare professionals

How will I be assessed?

There will be a range of assessments during this course. You will compile a portfolio of evidence, record client case studies, complete written assignments and complete practical assessments.

What qualification will I achieve?

Once you have completed this course, you will achieve a Level 4 Diploma in Providing Therapies For Clients With Cancer Or Other Life-Limiting Conditions.

What can I do after completing this course?

Once you have finished this course, you will be able to work as a practitioner and provide therapy and care for people with cancer or life-limiting conditions. You might also be interested in continuing to study and earn more massage or holistic qualifications with us.

Additional Info

You'll need to be qualified in massage, reflexology and aromatherapy at Level 3 to join this course. We recommend you set aside two to three hours a week for some study outside of class. You will also be required to work in a health care setting, providing treatments as evidence for case studies. We can help you to find work-related activities.
