What will I study?

You will explore the process of organising and planning your learning, gathering, storing, referencing and assessing information, and producing or presenting a range of information. You will develop your ability to make positive contributions in learning through collaboration and team work.

There will be the opportunity to apply these new skills through researching a career path, completing a team work and by producing an extended piece of writing.

What previous qualifications or experience do I need?

There are no formal entry criteria for this course.

How will I be assessed?

Achievement of the award is via submission of a portfolio evidencing your study skills.

What qualification will I achieve?

Laser Level 2 Award in progression

What can I do after completing this course?

Students may progress onto one of the Access to HE diplomas, or other L3 pathway, providing they have the necessary entry requirements.

Additional Info

This course is an excellent way to prepare learners for the demands of the very intensive Access to HE diplomas, by allowing them to develop many of the study skills needed prior to starting the Access diploma. It is particularly useful for students who are returning to study after a long break and students who wish to improve their written English and gain valuable study skills in preparation for the access to HE diploma.
