HND Film Production

Is your future in film? This degree-level filmmaking course will teach you the practical elements of digital and film, editing and cinematography and will give you the skills and confidence to progress as either an independent filmmaker, freelancer or onto higher education. The Filmmaking HND (Higher National Certificate) is the equivalent to the first two years of a degree and this is a fantastic opportunity to study film and filmmaking at a respected training and education institution. The Film School teaches with both HD and Film cameras, to introduce you to both formats so you will be ready for the workplace. We run specialist workshops in HD to introduce you to the Canon 5D, Cenema C300, Red Epic and Arri Alexa as well as using the school's Canon 600D shooting kits with Zoom recorders and radio directional mics to develop practical skills. Film formats will be covered with projects using Super-8, 16mm, Super-16 and 35mm so that you gain a complete overview of both professional film and digital equipment. The course is based around several projects throughout the year, which incorporate theory and research based units to give a holistic understanding of both the film and television industry through the production of short films, music promos, lighting camera techniques and editing.
