The modules are designed to prepare you for work in the music industry. In year one, you will take part in skills based workshops including; Multi-track Recording, The Lyricist Composer & Producer, and the Live event.
In year two you will explore Film & TV Soundtracks, Entrepreneurial Practice and create Career Showcase.
In the final year of your degree programme you will expand your existing knowledge and explore the mix of creativity and technology before focusing on a specific industry related field in the form of a final Major Production Project.
Throughout the programme of study students you will be supported in research and experimentation and to work on your projects with ever increasing independence. You will be encouraged to reflect on a variety of issues, including those of a social, cultural or historical nature and let these inform your work where appropriate. The aim is to produce graduates who are competent in their area of expertise, aware of their creative potential, strengthened as individuals and critical thinkers and ready to enter industry as informed practitioners.
You will be assessed throughout your course, completing 120 credits each year as coursework. This is paced throughout the year to help you balance your workload, and the time you spend studying.
You will be awarded a BA (Hons) Music Production & Creative Recording degree validated by the University of East Anglia.
The course emphasises the various contexts of music 'use' and prepares you to work in may related fields e.g. record release; television; film; video; performance; computer games and advertising. You will be introduced to a range of techniques and methodologies enabling you to achieve your own goals. In addition, the course employs work-related scenarios where you will actively work as an independent record label and as a live event promoter. The course recognises the entrepreneurial nature of the industry and enables students to produce career-specific individual business plans, showcase recordings and audio-visual products.
Alternatively, once completed, you can continue your studies at Masters level.
