What will I study?

Learn simple techniques to help regain contentment and address issues such as anxiety and emotional distress, as well as reduce certain physical effects of stress. In these taster sessions you will have the opportunity to find out a bit more about what meditation and mindfulness can be, as well as experience some of the techniques involved. We will practise guided meditations seated on chairs and lying down.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course but you will receive a certificate of attendance if you complete the course.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,000 per year (this includes pension income)*. Please select the relevant options when enrolling online.

There are no additional costs. All materials are provided.

*If you do not qualify for a free course the course fee will be £22.50

Additional Info

Please note: learners are limited to taking part in a maximum of SIX community learning courses throughout the academic year.

You may wish to bring a yoga mat if you have one and a light cover / warm clothing in case you feel cold during relaxation.
