What will I study?

The course covers the following units:

  • Unit 1: What is digital and media literacy?
  • Unit 2: ICT Literacy
    • Software and operating systems
  • Unit 3: Organising Files and Folders
    • Basic file operations
    • Basic folder operations
    • Email organisation and security
  • Unit 4: Taking Advantage of Technology
    • How to use technology to support your learning
    • Using technology to collaborate with groups of people
  • Unit 5: Internet Safety
    • Internet safety
    • Identifying and minimising risks
  • Unit 6: Researching and using information from the internet
    • Internet searches
    • Evaluating search results.

How will I be assessed?

The mini course is computer marked and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.

What qualification will I achieve?

This is a non-accredited course. You will receive a CPD certificate.

£25 - payment by BACS or Card on Enrollment.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

From the start of the course, you will need to ensure you have the following in place:

  • PC, Laptop, Tablet (smart phones are not recommended as aren’t fully compatible with the VLE)
  • Reliable internet access

You will have 48 hours from the time you start the course for you to complete the units however we believe that both units can be completed in approximately 1 hour.

  • Units are computer marked.
  • A CPD E-certificate will be generated on completion of the course.
