This workshop introduces a mindfulness-based approach to self-compassion, exploring how you can be kinder to yourself during challenging times.

Drawing on neuroscience, lived experience and practical tools, you will begin to develop a personalised toolkit to support your wellbeing and resilience.

What will I study?

Through guided practices from the Breathworks approach to mindfulness, you will learn a range of self-compassion techniques, including the Self-Compassion Break, gentle mindful movement and a self-kindness meditation.

This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in mindfulness and self-compassion. However, if you are currently experiencing severe mental health difficulties or have experienced recent trauma, this workshop may not be suitable at this time. Mindfulness and compassion practices can sometimes bring up strong emotions or difficult feelings. If you are unsure whether this workshop is appropriate for you, please contact the tutor before booking.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course.

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,750 per year (this includes pension income)*. Please select the relevant options when enrolling online.

There are no additional costs. All materials are provided unless otherwise stated.

*If you do not qualify for a free course the course fee will be £8.
