Well-Being: 5 Steps and 4 Meditations

A short, friendly course where we will explore together how we might put into action the 5 steps to well-being, in our daily lives. We will create a positive foundation through learning daily meditations to practice, kindness, joy, compassion and peace.

What will I study?

This course is suitable both for beginners and those with an existing meditation practice. We will practice seated meditation in the sessions and explore topics through structured activities and interactive presentations. You will be asked to undertake a daily meditation practice of 10 to 20 minutes and encouraged to keep a learning journal, for the course duration.

What qualification will I achieve?

There is no qualification for this course.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can explore a variety of other courses within Community Learning or the adult college.

Are there any extra costs?

This course is free if you are in receipt of benefits or earn less than £25,750 per year (this includes pension income)*. Please select the relevant options when enrolling online.

There are no additional costs. Please bring a pen, a notepad (suitable for writing notes, should you wish to keep them and for use as a learning journal) and a folder to keep hand-outs in. Wear comfortable clothes.

All materials are provided unless otherwise stated.

Additional Info

The practices and activities will help support us through day to day low mood states but may be unsuitable for those with an underlying mental health condition such as schizophrenia. If you are under the direction of a doctor, please check first and bring their written agreement that you may attend this course.

Please note: learners are limited to taking part in a maximum of SIX community learning courses throughout the academic year.
