This course is specifically designed to help you become an educational assessor in the working environment as well as the teaching and training environment. You will be qualified in your chosen industry and join the course to learn the principles and practices of assessment, how to assess occupational competence in the working environment, and how to assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding. Shadowing a qualified assessor in your area of work will also contribute to your learning.

What will I study?

Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment. Assess Occupational Competence in the Working Environment *Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding.

How will I be assessed?

The understanding module, is delivered through the colleges VLE 'Turing'. Stidents work at their own pace through the tasks and these are marked by your tutor. The other units are assessed through observation. There is a requirement that you will have to shadow a qualified assessor in your own area of work.

What can I do after completing this course?

You can verify in your place of work, or progress onto a teaching qualification.
