The Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Construction and The Built Environment offers you a broad introduction to the subject area via a mandatory core of learning modules, as well as units within general ‘pathways’, including Construction Technology, Science and Materials, Construction Information and Individual projects. This effectively builds underpinning core skills, with general specialisation; preparing you for further specialisation at Level 5. You will study a range of skills and techniques including site surveying, construction management, quantity surveying, health and safety, and research methods. The course will develop your knowledge and use of construction and some civil engineering principles to solve practical construction problems.
